EQUINE JUSTICE

a non-profit corporation

Dedicated To Restoring Balance To The Relationship Between Humans And Horses

We are extremely proud of the exceptional individuals that comprise our Advisory Board. They are each highly qualified and knowledgeable about horses and have considerable business acumen, both in the for-profit and non-profit sectors. But more, they each possess a love of horses and a devotion to their care and well-being, and strive in what they do to advance a deeper, more enlightened understanding of horses. As members of our Advisory Board, they are responsible for advising Equine Justice on matters pertaining to the equine world.

They are:

Dee Gleason

Dee Gleason's love of horses has been a consistent part of her life since she began riding as a small child. After studying and practicing for years to be a skilled equestrian she turned her focus toward training others to develop their talents in competitive jumping and equitation. The central element of Dee's training of others has been the importance of unity between a person and a horse based upon communication and understanding. She strives to achieve an understanding of every horse based upon their own unique qualities and experiences, and accepts every horse she encounters as an individual. She stresses the importance of knowing a horse's mind, its emotional make-up and understanding the many subtle ways horses communicate with us. Most importantly, Dee recognizes that to be effective with any horse we must be aware of ourselves and in doing so how horses can make us better human beings.

Dee has been the proprietor of Del Rio Farms riding and boarding facility in Fallbrook, California for over a dozen years. Her knowledge and experience in running a large equine facility provides a great benefit to Equine Justice. In addition to the many rescued horses to whom she has welcomed at her ranch, Dee herself has rescued, rehabilitated and found good homes for many unfortunate horses over the years. Her own much-beloved Tristan, a Hanoverian Warmblood rescued by Dee and brought to Del Rio Farms, has developed with her love, patience and steadiness into a beautiful and talented horse. In addition to horses, Dee's interests include providing alternative healing to people and animals, and is both a Reiki Master and practitioner of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT).

Dawn Fletcher, D.C.

Dr Dawn

Raised in Del Mar, California, Dr. Fletcher has always had horses in her life and has participated to some degree in most riding disciplines.  She's a graduate of Cleveland Chiropractic College, Los Angeles, and ran a "people" chiropractic practice until 2004.  She completed her animal chiropractic education at Options For Animals in Kansas, one of only three accredited animal chiropractic schools in the country, where she earned her animal chiropractic certification from the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association.

Dr. Fletcher dedicates herself to improving the quality of life and performance capabilities of every horse she can.  She is keenly attuned to each horse's needs and takes chiropractic and her adjustments very seriously, adjusting with speed and precision. She has a keen eye and strong intuitive quality that enables her to approach each horse as an individual, and uses her talents and skills to teach people about their horses so they too can have a better understanding. Patience, understanding and caring were key to Dr. Fletcher during her chiropractic career, and she has carried these qualities over into her equine practice.  Currently she has two horses, a pgymy goat, four cats and two dogs.

Alice has been involved with horses all of her life. She is a horse-woman in the finest and truest sense. Alice spent most of her adult life as the owner and operator of Silver Wing Ranch in San Marcos, California, involved in the breeding and training of fine Quarter Horses. Alice now limits her equine activities to enjoying them for the sheer pleasure they give her and in the rescue and care of horses in need of a home. She anticipates having another ranch in the very near future dedicated to providing a home to rescued horses.
